Butane Offload and Blending Skids

Project Background:

• Packaged equipment fabricator had received multiple orders, taxing their engineering capacity
• Urgent timelines were required to meet end-user demands
• Three (3) different package designs required project, mechanical, process and instrumentation engineering input into fabrication
• Engineer stamped drawings were required for fabrication and regulatory applications

Solution & Execution:

• Initial collaborative discussion between Valor EPC and packager to confirm scope and offer a lump-sum commercial agreement to provide packager with price certainty on this scope
• Dedicated Valor team assigned to produce design and review fabrication drawings and requirements
• Project Engineer from Valor visited packager facility on frequent basis to ensure input to design and address concerns in a timely manner
• Produced missing deliverables in proactive manner to ensure regulatory approval was in place
• Actively discussed alternative design approaches to minimize scope and fabrication time, resulting in a quicker delivery
• Assisted with review of packager created documents and helped packager create in house documents for future use
• Coordinated structural skid and pipe support designs with Valor structural team and fabricators chosen CAD designer

Final Results:

• Detailed Design complete for all three (3) packages in less than 8 weeks
• Regulatory approval received in less than 2 weeks
• Valor engineering review and collaboration with the packager suggested a necessary change to piping and pump sizing to produce a better overall package pressure drop.  The changes as a result were able to be implemented prior to fabrication saving shop and site rework
• Scope delivered within expected time frame at agreed to lump sum cost
